Roadmap

A BEXUS campaign is an exciting adventure which lasts for one year and four months, developing throughout a series of milestones:

1-Call for Rexus/Bexus proposals: submission of the proposal with the description of the experiment concept

2-Selection Workshop: invitation to the selection workshop at ESA-ESTEC in Noordwijk, The Netherlands and presentation of the experiment proposal to the Selection Board

3-Training Week & PDR: presentation of the Prelimary Design Review (PDR) to the Selection Board and Training Week, alternatively at DLR in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany or at the ESRANGE space center near Kiruna, Sweden

4-Critical Design Review: presentation of the Critical Design Review (CDR) to the Selection Board at ESA-ESTEC in Noordwijk, The Netherlands

5-Interim Progress Review: presentation of the experiment integration status for the Interim Progress Review (IPR) to the Board representative, at the experiment hometown

6-Experiment Acceptance Review: Experiment Acceptance Review (EAR) at the experiment hometown, and delivery of the experiment to ESRANGE

7-Launch campaign: experiment integration onboard the gondola, final checks and launch of the Bexus balloon at ESRANGE, Sweden

8-Delivery of final student report

ARCADE (BEXUS 12/13):

1-Call for Rexus/Bexus 2010 proposals: deadline on October 24th, 2010

2-Selection Workshop: November 30th – December 2nd, 2010, at ESA-ESTEC in Noordwijk, The Netherlands

3-Training Week & PDR: February 7th – 11th, 2011 (PDR on February 8th, 2011), at DLR in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany

4-Critical Design Review: May 19th-20th, 2011, at ESA-ESTEC in Noordwijk, The Netherlands

5-Interim Progress Review: July 29th, 2011 at CISAS – Padova, Italy

6-Experiment Acceptance Review: September 7th, 2011 at CISAS – Padova, Italy

7-Launch campaign: September 23rd – October 2nd, 2011 at ESRANGE, Sweden

8-Delivery of final student report: January 31st, 2012

ARCADE-R2 (BEXUS 16/17)

1-Call for Rexus/Bexus 2010 proposals: deadline on October 22nd, 2012

2-Selection Workshop: December 10th- 13th, 2012, at ESA-ESTEC in Noordwijk, The Netherlands

3-Training Week & PDR: due to the advanced status of ARCADE-R2, only the submission of the SED v1.0 by January 18th, 2013 is required

4-Critical Design Review: May 2013 at ESA-ESTEC in Noordwijk, The Netherlands

5-Interim Progress Review: July 2013 at CISAS – Padova, Italy

6-Experiment Acceptance Review: September 2013 at CISAS – Padova, Italy

7-Launch campaign: end of September – beginning of October, 2013 at ESRANGE, Sweden
